Today, I found myself revisiting one of the earliest moments from our parenting journey — the first morning after the birth of our daughter.
After managing to sleep for a few hours, I returned to the hospital early in the morning.
When I entered the room, I saw my daughter crying uncontrollably. My wife was still lying on the bed, exhausted after everything she had gone through. The nurses were trying to calm the baby, but nothing seemed to work.
I still remember feeling helpless in that moment.
Then one of the nurses suggested something I had never expected — skin-to-skin contact between the baby and her father.
I was surprised. Until then, I had only heard about the connection between a mother and a newborn child. I never imagined that such a moment could exist between a father and his daughter as well.
My daughter was still crying.
And then came the magical moment.
The moment she was placed against me, she slowly became calm. The crying stopped. The room suddenly felt quiet, peaceful, and unforgettable.
It is one of those moments that has stayed with me ever since.
That morning taught me something important.
Sometimes, life is not about assumptions or expectations. It is about being fully present in a moment and allowing yourself to experience it completely.
Maybe some of the most meaningful moments in life arrive unexpectedly — quietly changing how we understand love, connection, and ourselves.
